"The main incentive for my family and me to choose Trail Ridge for my home was the wellness program. I was learning to walk with a walker after two back surgeries. Almost two years ago I move here and joined the wellness program. I have noticed the program was consistently improving until now we have a director for five days per week. I can notice the difference in how I feel, how my walking with my walker and cane have improved, and how often I forget to take my walker and just walk!! I thank God, our director, Jona, and the people, who all make it fun to go and exercise each day and to work hard to improve."

"Let me tell you what the Wellness Program has done for me. When I first heard about the program I didn’t think I would be interested. However, I signed up and I haven’t been sorry. I have used a cane and a walker since I moved to Trail Ridge. I no longer use either. My family thinks the change has been dramatic. They are impressed with the ease in which I can get into their vehicles without help. I also notice changes about myself here in the apartment, I am stronger and I feel better. I would advise anyone who is not in the program to sign up. Jona is a capable director. He knows our limits and deals with them."

"The Trail Ridge Wellness program has seen a significant increase in participation by residents since the institution of the Age Dynamics program under the direction and motivation of our full time, well trained and experienced director. All aspects of wellness are included in the regimen of exercises utilizing various types of equipment. The activities are geared to the level of one’s ability. A variety of classes has been arranged to meet the needs of different levels of capability.
Each class is well attended by a variety of people in our community.
Attention is given to the importance of balance to avoid the possibility of falling. Range of motion, strength training and cardio vascular needs are addressed in the program.
The recent addition of a Wii video game has heightened interest and participation beyond expectation. This activity has not only stimulated our physical and mental coordination but has been a tremendous social outlet, including competitive sports with other retirement communities.
We sense that members of our community are encouraged and impressed with this new wellness program for it has improved our physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social well-being."
